The ‘Career DevelopMentor’ was invited to give a presentation to the Construction Management & Civil Engineering Technology students at CUNY City Tech. The event was organized by City Tech’s American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Student Chapter. The ‘Career DevelopMentor’ have been a Practitioner Advisor (PA) for City Tech ASCE Student Chapter since 2015. In this role the ‘Career DevelopMentor’ works with students throughout the year to introduce them to the Civil Engineering profession and help them develop professional autonomy. Additionally, the ‘Career DevelopMentor’ works with the students to motivate, encourage, offer constructive criticism, question, and be an example of honest, ethical, high-caliber professional performance. One of the focus of the presentation was to speak to prospective student leaders for the ASCE Student Chapter in the upcoming years.
